CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— ELLERY — At about 4:40 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle complaint on I-86 going eastbound near Mina. The vehicle was later located in the Town of North Harmony and stopped in the town of Ellery after a traffic infraction. The driver was Eric J. Rush, 50, of Knoxville, Tenn. After an investigation, Rush was charged with DWI, DWI per se, aggravated unlicensed operation. and failure to keep right. He was later released with traffic citations and will be in the Town of Ellery Court later.
— HANOVER — Around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, patrol in the area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Routes 5 and 20. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as 46-year-old Lance E. McKoon of Jamestown.
Following an investigation, it was determined that McKoon was operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Hanover substation. Once processed, he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and released with traffic tickets. He was being charged with speed in zone, DWI, and DWI per se. He will return to court later.
— SHERMAN — At about 12:27 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an address for a reported altercation. Upon arrival, deputies located Cameron D. Johnson, 33, of Sherman, at the scene.
After an investigation it was found that Johnson had obstructed the breathing of another in the presence of a person less than 17 years old. Johnson was taken into custody and charged with the obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment and will answer the charges later.
