JAMESTOWN POLICE
– Isiah T. Fuentes 25, homeless, was charged with first-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday after officers responded to a north side home for a report of a man with a weapon. Officers found Fuentes had been involved in a confrontation with a woman at the apartment. During the altercation, Fuentes allegedly grabbed a metal ceremonial display sword and swung it threateningly at the woman numerous times while a young child was getting ready for school at the same time. Fuentes was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Nathan J. Houser, 22, of Jamestown was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and endangering the welfare of a child at 11:43 p.m. Monday after officers responded to a north side home for a reported domestic incident. According to a police report, Houser allegedly threw a woman on the ground and choked her. Police say Houser allegedly engaged in the physical conduct while a child was nearby. Houser was found a short time later and charged. He was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT
– Leanne Calkins, 52, of Jamestown, was sentenced Monday by Judge David Foley to three years in prison and five years of post-release supervision after being convicted of second-degree attempted burglary, a class D felony, and second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class A-II felony. In October 2023, Calkins unlawfully entered the upstairs apartment of the building she was living in and stole various items belonging to someone else. She was charged by the Jamestown Police Department with second-degree burglary. In July, Calkins pled guilty to the lesser charge. In May, Calkins was arrested on numerous drug charges by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and pleaded guilty to the criminal sale charges in July and received a concurrent sentence of three years with the attempted burglary conviction.
