Two charged in traffic stop, drug
discovery
— HANOVER — A three-month-long narcotics investigation in the Fredonia and Dunkirk areas ended with a traffic stop and the arrest of two individuals Monday afternoon.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office along with narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunkirk Police Department stopped a vehicle being driven by Jennifer Jadwin on Route 5.
Investigators executed a search warrant on the vehicle along with the two occupants, Jadwin, 42, of Dunkirk and Joshua Adams, 45, of Rochester. As a result of the search Investigators seized 39.2 grams of fentanyl, 32 grams of cocaine, 58.07 grams of crack cocaine, 9.8 grams of MDMA and scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics. Adams was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Jadwin was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Both Adams and Jadwin were transported to the centralized arraignment program at the Chautauqua County Jail.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Jared Leroy, 43, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree arson and second-degree criminal contempt. Officers and Jamestown firefighters responded at 1:58 p.m. Monday to a possible fire inside a north side apartment. An investigation determined that Leroy was inside a residence with a woman who had a valid stay away order of protection against him. It was also learned that Leroy intentionally ignited a pile of wood inside of an electric cooking stove to heat the apartment. This resulted in the stove melting and smoke damage to the residence. No injuries were reported. Leroy was held for arraignment in court. The apartment was condemned by the city Department of Development.
