Stabbing reported in Brocton

BROCTON — A stabbing before 1 p.m. Tuesday in the village put the Brocton Central School in a lockout situation for about an hour.

Scanner reports indicated the incident took place on Peerless Street. A woman was noted as the victim while the suspects were said to be traveling toward Dunkirk-Fredonia. There was “no immediate threat toward the school,” the note sent by the district said.

A lockout is a situation where occupants secure the exterior of a building. During a lockout, all occupants that are outside the building move inside for safety. A lockout is usually in response to a dangerous situation nearby in which building administrators or local law-enforcement believe is not safe to be outside the building.

According to the district, the suspect was apprehended. The stabbing injuries were reported as minor.
