LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

¯ Jenifer L. Washburn, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. It is alleged that Washburn swapped items and failed to scan multiple items at self-check out Tuesday at Walmart. Washburn then allegedly passed all points of sale without proper payment. Washburn is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Raheem Alongdae Butts, 32, no address listed, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment. Officers responded at 4:34 a.m. Saturday to the area of Lafayette Street and Isabella Avenue for a gunshot complaint. An investigation found that Butts allegedly fired a gun at another person. The gun was later located by officers. Butts has a prior felony conviction and is unable to possess a firearm. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment in court. Police did not state if anyone was injured in the shooting.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ SHERMAN — John R. Lutgen, 24, of Sherman, was charged with petit larceny. Deputies investigated a larceny that took place April 18 on West Main Street in the village of Sherman. It was learned that Lutgen allegedly stole a generator from the West Main Street property. He was issued an appearance ticket Tuesday and is scheduled to appear in court later.

SENTENCING

¯ Samantha Coy, 33, of Silver Creek, was sentenced Wednesday by County Court Judge David Foley to one to three years in state prison for violating the terms of her probation. Coy was convicted of aggravated DWI, a class E felony, in Erie County. Her probation was transferred to Chautauqua County, and the violation occurred when Coy was re-arrested in January 2023.
