COUNTY SHERIFF
— BROCTON — A Ripley man wanted on a warrant is facing an additional charge of having drug paraphernalia.
At 11:23 a.m. Aug. 30, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies conducted a warrant check at a residence on Old Mill Road. Dennis J. Cash Jr., 33, was located in the back yard of the residence.
Cash had active arrest warrants out of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department and out of Westfield Police Department. When Cash was being arrested for his outstanding warrants, he was discovered to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Cash was additionally charged with second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
— FRENCH CREEK — At about 12:25 a.m. Sunday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single motor vehicle accident on Pekin Hill Road. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Nancy G. Molnar, 67, of Idaho. Further investigation found Molnar to be driving while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and backing unsafely. Molnar was released with tickets and will be in the Town of French Creek Court later.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
— STEAMBURG — Troopers out of Jamestown charged Jonathan Wright, 27, of Randolph, with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Saturday.
In October 2021, Troopers responded to a residence in Steamburg for a report of a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed that Wright arrived at the victim’s residence and uninvited and broke the locked door and door jam.
The victim was able to flee and call 911 from a neighbor’s residence. Wright fled the scene prior to the Troopers’ arrival and as efforts to locate him had been unsuccessful, a warrant was obtained. Wright was arrested by Troopers at the Jamestown Police Department as he was in JPD’s custody on an unrelated charge. Wright was processed at Jamestown barracks, arraigned in the town of Conewango Court and released without bail. Wright is to be in the town of Cold Spring Court later.
— RANDOLPH — Troopers out of Jamestown charged Daniel Visker, 36, of Randolph, with third-degree assault.
Troopers responded Sunday to an address in Randolph for a report of a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed that during an argument, Visker grabbed the victim’s hair, kneed her in the face and struck the victim several times in the back of the head, resulting in minor injury. Visker was placed under arrest and processed at Jamestown barracks. Visker was arraigned in the town of Cold Spring Court and released without bail.
— Troopers out of Jamestown charged Jessica Keeler, 30, of Jamestown, with driving while intoxicated after driving on the wrong side of the Southern Tier Expressway.
On Saturday, troopers and Ellicott Police units responded to Interstate 86 for a report for a report of a vehicle driving east in the westbound lane from Exit 10. Ellicott Police confirmed the speed of the suspect vehicle to be 100 mph and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The vehicle failed comply but was eventually stopped at Exit 14 in Kennedy. The driver, Keeler, was placed under arrest by Troopers after failing several field sobriety tests and transported to SP Jamestown where she refused to provide a breath sample. Keeler was then processed and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
