JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ A 16-year-old male, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. Officers responded at 7:06 p.m. Saturday to the east side of the city for a reported burglary. Homeowners told police they returned home and found a male inside. The youth took off with items and, when later approached by officers, fled several blocks. The teen reportedly ran behind several businesses and jumped into the river. He was eventually taken into custody in a parking lot and transported to the department’s Juvenile Bureau where he was released to his parents. Officers were assisted by the Ellicott Police Department.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ PORTLAND — Justin Schreier, 27, of Portland, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Deputies were called at 2 p.m. Tuesday to a Portland residence for an unwanted person. An investigation found that Schreier was allegedly violating a court order and had an outstanding parole warrant. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Darren T. Jones, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Officers responded at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday to Walmart for a trespass complaint. Police were taken to Jones, who was found to have been trespassed from the store for a prior incident. Jones also was found to have an active warrant from Lakewood-Busti. He is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ DAYTON — Emily Elliott, 44, of Fredonia was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and leaving the scene of injury to certain animals without reporting. On Thursday around 9:45 p.m. deputies responded to a call on Route 322 in the town of Dayton of a vehicle and Amish buggy crash with heavy damage to the buggy. The vehicle had fled the scene. Deputies said they discovered Elliott at a different location allegedly in an intoxicated state. She will answer to the charges in Dayton Town Court.
¯ Jedidiah L. Badgley, 35, of Tayer Street, Jamestown was taken into custody Sunday around 1:45 p.m. on a bench warrant from Little Valley Town Corut. He was transported to Little Valley Town Court for arraignment and released.
