City Police Investigating Criminal Mischief Spree
Tires to more than two dozen vehicles were slashed in a criminal mischief spree occurring earlier this month. The Jamestown Police Department is now asking the public’s assistance in locating the people responsible.
In a message posted to Facebook, the department on Monday said it was investigating the rash of complaints taking place on the west side of the city. Specifically, JPD said it believes two people were responsible for slashing the tires to about 30 vehicles overnight between July 8 and July 11.
Impacted areas include McKinley Avenue, Charles Street, Norwood Avenue, Chautauqua Avenue, Delaware Avenue, Front Street, Forest Avenue and Chambers Street.
“Residents are asked to check any security camera video footage that they may have — primarily during the overnight hours from July 8 to the morning hours of July 9,” the department said.
Photographs of two people walking were released by the police department Monday.
In August 2021, more than 30 vehicles were damaged along East Second Street, between Hopkins and Niagara avenues. It was thought that the same person caused all of the damage to windows and tires.
