‘Incredibly Grateful’: CRCF Grant Provides Therapy Tools For Children

The Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy pediatrics team have used a grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation to purchase toys to use as tools for children’s occupational therapy during in-home sessions.
The Chautauqua Center Inc.’s Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy Pediatric Rehab Department has secured grant funding to provide and utilize pediatric therapy toys as tools for early intervention and preschool home visits.
The tools will enhance occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology services, ensuring young children receive critical developmental support within their home environments.
“We are incredibly grateful for this funding, which enables us to deliver high-quality therapy resources directly to the homes of children who need them most,” said Susan Green, pediatric rehab supervisor. “Early intervention is vital to a child’s development, and these tools will significantly impact their progress and future success.”
Through a grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, The Chautauqua Center Inc. was able to acquire more than $2,000 worth of broad-ranged, specialized therapy toys. The tools are designed to improve motor skills, sensory development, communication and overall growth in young children. Therapists will use the toys during home visits, implementing engaging and effective strategies to help children achieve their full potential.
“We are pleased to be able to support this project through our General grant opportunity that is intended to meet emerging needs,” said Elizabeth Jones, community impact officer at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. “By helping expand the supply of therapeutic toys for home visit bags, we’re ensuring that more children and families have access to the tools they need to support meaningful progress through occupational, physical, and speech therapy.”
