Jamestown High School students raised $10,525 for the Anthony Senske Memorial Fund at the 44th annual Battle of the Classes held Thursday evening in the McElrath Gymnasium at JHS.
Accepting the donation were Kristi and Cory Senske, Anthony’s parents, who established the fund through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation following Anthony’s passing on April 5, 2024. The fund honors Anthony’s legacy by supporting organizations and activities he loved — including Stones Buddies, Harrison’s Playmakers, and the Special Olympics — and by making inclusive, accessible opportunities available to children with disabilities.
“We are incredibly grateful to the students and staff of Jamestown High School,” said Kristi Senske. “Anthony brought so much light to everyone he met, and this donation helps ensure that light continues to shine by supporting causes and experiences that reflect who he was and what he loved.”
The school-wide competition featured dance routines, relay races, tug of war, and more, and capped several weeks of spirited fundraising across all grade levels. Since its inception, Battle of the Classes has raised more than $300,000 for local organizations and causes.
The Senior Class of 2025 was declared the winner, raising $4,653.78 and taking home first place in the skills competition. The Junior Class of 2026 raised $1,700, the Sophomore Class of 2027 raised $1,734.98, and the Freshman Class of 2028 raised $1,745.

“Battle of the Classes is about more than fun — it’s about giving back,” said Braelyn Peterson, co-president of the JHS Class of 2025. “By choosing the Anthony Senske Memorial Fund, we’re helping carry forward Anthony’s energy and positivity by providing support for other students in our community.”
