A ministry that operates out of the grounds of Chautauqua Institution has sold its headquarters, with the proceeds to create perpetual endowments.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales and recently looked at the sales from Jan. 13-24.

During this time period, the International Order of the King’s Daughters & Sons of Chautauqua sold 6 Irving Place for $1,175,000.

The International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons is an interdenominational, intergenerational Christian service organization.

On its original listing on Zillow, it stated, “Florence Hall, an IOKDS staple – hosting students and chaplains and other guests for 80 years – will now be offered for sale as part of the IOKDS’s Legacy Plan. Their motto ‘Lend a Hand’ will do just that by creating perpetual endowments for student scholarships and Chautauqua initiatives as well as other singular initiatives.”

The home was bequeathed to the IOKDS by Florence Roblee. Her family was the founder of the Buster Brown Shoe Co.

Including the previously mentioned sale, from Jan. 13-24, there were 15 sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:
