It’s a good time to celebrate if one is a fan of the Jamestown Jackals.

On Saturday, the Jackals will host a celebration event and meet-and-greet at 4 p.m. at the Busti Church of God, 996 Forest Ave., Jamestown.

“The Jamestown Jackals have made history, clinching fourth place in their inaugural Basketball Super League (BSL) season. With the playoffs approaching, we’re celebrating with our community before the big game,” said Kayla Crosby, Jackals owner, founder and manager. “This is a chance to meet the team, share in the season’s success, and rally behind the Jackals before their home, play-in game, on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m.”

While there is no set price to attend, donations will be gladly accepted and appreciated, said Crosby.

The Jackals also recently hosted a children’s basketball clinic recently at Chautauqua Christian Academy.

“This program was for kids and teens from K-12th grade, boys and girls who want to work on their basketball skills and to train with the pros,” Crosby said.

Similar clinics have been held at Russell United Methodist Church, Christ First United Methodist Church, Busti Church of God, Zion Covenant Church, Lakewood Baptist Church, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, The Better Place, Emmanuel Temple and Mission Covenant Church of Sugar Grove, and Cut-N-Edge Barber Shop to provide a basketball clinic and ball give-a-way, a Bible and a free haircut to program participants.
