Sledgehammer, Machete Involved In Separate Incidents

Three Jamestown residents find themselves facing charges after separate domestic incidents Tuesday involving the threatened use of weapons.

At 4:13 p.m. Tuesday Ronald J. Maund, 24, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, second-degree criminal tampering, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest after officers responded to an east side home for an in-progress domestic dispute. Officers spoke with a person who said Maund had gotten into a verbal domestic dispute with the other person. The incident escalated, with Maund allegedly shutting the electricity off to the home where the person and their three juvenile children reside, all of whom were present. Maund then allegedly threatened physical harm to the other person with a sledgehammer in front of the three juvenile children. Maund then allegedly became combative with officers when they tried to arrest him, according to a police report. Maund was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

Two women face charges in a separate incident on the city’s south side at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a police report, Victoria Bradberry, 29, and Natalie Yoder, 52, got into a fight. It’s alleged Bradberry hit an unnamed woman in the head with what police termed a dangerous instrument, causing injury, while Yoder allegedly threatened the unnamed woman with a machete. Yoder is charged with second-degree menacing while Bradberry is charged with second-degree assault. Both were taken to the city jail until they could be arraigned.

– Dylan S. Griffith, 34, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday after officers responded to a domestic incident on the east side of Jamestown. According to a police report, officers knew Griffith had a valid stay away order from the person he was with. Griffith was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
