Sales Include Former Mayville Restaurants, Jamestown Health Clinic

Two closed restaurants on Chautauqua Lake were purchased for more than $1 million.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Nov. 25-27.

During this time period, Chautauqua Inns, LTD sold 186 and 188 S. Erie St., Mayville to Best View Mayville, LLC of Mayville for $1.1 million.

That is the addresses of House on the Hill and the Watermark restaurants. The House on the Hill closed in 2019 while the Watermark closed after the 2022 season. There were a number of parcels that came with the sale, including a large parking lot across the street.

In a separate sale, Evergreen Foundation of Western New York, Inc. of Buffalo sold 408 W. Fifth St., Jamestown to Kruisers, LLC of West Hartford, Conn. for $90,000. Evergreen Health provides medical, supportive and behavioral health services in Buffalo and Jamestown.

The company notes on its website that all services that used to be offered at their location on W. Fifth Street are now being offered at their Prather Avenue location in the city. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in December, 2023. Services offered include primary care, sexual health testing and treatments, HIV prevention and care, Hepatitis C care, transgender care, Evergreen Lofts and Housing assistance, syringe exchange program, harm reduction, and care coordination.

Also during this time, Donald Thomas sold 9 Hopkins Ave., Jamestown to Hector Sales, Inc. of Jamestown for $50,000. The powersports dealer offers motorcycles, ATVs, and scooters, plus repair services and parts. No changes in operation were announced.

In another sale, Young Men’s Christian Association of Jamestown sold 133 Winsor St, 251 Harrison St. and 289 Harrison St., Jamestown to Jamestown Board of Utilities for $150,000. That vacant land is where the YMCA was originally planning to build a new facility, but the organization instead chose to partner with Jamestown Community College and have a combined facility. BPU plans to market the property for manufacturing development.

From Nov. 25-27, there were seven sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:

– 5756 Magnolia Road, Chautauqua town sold for $600,000.

– 6189 Rt. 474, Harmony sold for $358,500.

– Unit 8239 Canterbury Woods I Condominium, Canterbury Road, French Creek sold for $341,000.

– 3295 Gerry-Levant Road, Ellicott sold for $340,000.

– 606 Park Ave., Dunkirk sold for $273,480.

– 52 Robinson St., Silver Creek sold for $254,000.

Overall, from Nov. 25-27 there were 64 transactions. The full list of sales higher than $1 is as follows:
