LAKEWOOD – Village Mayor Randy Holcomb approved several appointments at the Board of Trustees’ recent annual organizational meeting.

Trustees Nancy Jones and Ellen Barnes will serve on the auditing committee and the finance committee; Trustee John Shedd and Trustee Ben Troche will serve on the grants committee; the parks and recreation committee will consist of Shedd and Barnes while Troche and Barnes will serve on the personnel committee. Troche and Shedd were appointed to the public safety committee while Barnes and Shedd will serve on the streets and sidewalks committee. Shedd and Jones were appointed to the zoning committee.

Deputy Village Clerk Krysten Yager was appointed as a liaison to the events and marketing committee, and Shedd was appointed liaison to the comprehensive plan committee. Troche will serve as village liaison to the Lakewood Community Development Corp., and Barnes will serve as liaison to the lake environment and alliance committee.

Gary Segrue, Lou Drago, Carrie Brown, John Jablonski, and Jack McCray were appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals/Planning Board. Martin Idzik was appointed to serve as an alternate.

Holcomb designated M&T Bank, Key Bank, and Community Bank as the official depositories for all funds pertaining to village business. Holcomb also adopted the current Internal Revenue Service mileage reimbursement rate of 70 cents per mile for village employees and officials.

Trustees also set the regular board schedule where meetings will be held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month in the board room at Anthony Caprino Municipal Building, located at 20 W. Summit Ave. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a work session beginning at 6:15 p.m. If it is necessary to change the day and/or the time of a regularly scheduled meeting or to schedule a special meeting of the board, the mayor, trustees, respective department heads, and the media shall be notified in writing when practicable.
