The Thanksgiving spirit was in full force around the Jamestown area.

The Saint Susan Center, 31 Water St., provided full Thanksgiving meals, to more than 115 guests. Moreover, 52 volunteers helped prepare, serve and support the center’s meal program with an additional 17 Jamestown Jackals basketball players aiding in the center’s efforts.

“This was a wonderful event,” said Cherie Rowland, the executive director of the St. Susan Center. “It’s about bringing people together, building community, especially those who may be alone or struggling this holiday season.”

Additionally, the guests at the United Christian Advocacy Networks City Mission, 7 W. First St. received a similar blessing as the guests at the St. Susan Center.

“Pastor Cameron Lienhart and family came in and cooked, served and ate dinner with our guests,” said Bruce Baehr, the executive director of the UCAN City Mission.
