Selfless Giving
Fund Established To Honor Jackson Rohm
Jackson Rohm’s passing in January 2023 marked the end of the singer/songwriter’s live performances, where he was sure to be surrounded by a legion of loyal fans.
Whether a thousand-person theater or the corner chair in someone’s living room, the man’s music and thirst for life inspired those around him to gather and celebrate life together.
When he wasn’t bearing the moniker “Super Dad,” to his son Asher, connected at the hip to his loving wife Theresa, or inspiring his nieces and nephews, “Uncle” Jackson was an inspiration to many. His selfless nature made him a natural leader who was able to connect with everyone in the room.
Jackson’s sincerity did make way for a heavy-handed passion for competition. It was on full display as an athlete, where Rohm’s time in high school track and field brought out the drive and not lose sight of his goals and dreams. His time on track and field teams shared a glimpse of his love for community, which continued on with the man long after his high school years.
In losing Rohm with so much life ahead of him, his family not only recognized their own loss, but understood how much the community he loved would be impacted by his absence. Seeing that, they visited the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, to establish a donor-advised endowment fund in his name-a fund that would maintain the family’s input on deciding its community impact.
“He touched the lives of countless others through his selfless giving,” Jackson’s father Bob noted. “We feel the Jackson Rohm Fund is a way to continue Jackson’s love for our community – to keep his spirit alive.”
The Jackson Rohm Fund made its first award this year, signaling what might be Jackson’s greatest curtain call yet. A grant to Chautauqua Striders, Inc. was directed to their Youth Track & Field Development program, keeping its running community active and engaged thanks to a contribution from Jackson’s namesake fund.
