Reward Offered In City Homicide Case
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person(s) responsible for the homicide of Doug Howie.
The reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers WNY.
Around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, Jamestown police officers responded to the area of Newland and Forest avenues for a reported shooting incident. Officers found Howie, 68, at the scene suffering from a bullet wound. City firefighters and Alstar EMTs responded and treated Howie, who was taken to UPMC Chautauqua and then flown to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, where he succumbed to his wounds.
In late September city police released images of a pick-up truck whose owner and operator they are trying to identify as part of the homicide investigation.
