Babinsky Tapped To Lead Humane Society
Jane Babinsky is the new director of the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
Babinsky has held leadership roles in hospitals and nursing care facilities as well as 10 years leading museums in Ohio and Western New York. Most recently she has served as the executive director of the Fenton History Center. Her resume also includes 11 years as a veterinary assistant, more than 20 years as a consultant for pet therapy programs and owner of K9Piper’s Place, a dog daycare, training, grooming and retail business in Ohio.
While living in Ohio, Babinsky worked with several animal welfare groups, including foster care with “Marilyn’s Voice.” She also is an AKC/CGC evaluator and a Therapy Dogs International Inc. evaluator.
Babinsky also graduated in 2023 from ASI’s MEDAL Program, a leadership program for leaders in the arts and culture field.
Babinsky said she wants to use her combined life experiences to lead the Chautauqua County Humane Society in a future capital campaign to improve the physical facility and provide quality services to the community and the best care possible for the animals in need.
“The board of CCHS is thrilled to have found someone of Jane’s caliber for our next executive director,” said Shauna Anderson, Chautauqua County Humane Society board president. “She has all the qualities and skills we were looking for in our search. Her experience in leadership, management, finance, grant writing, professional writing, dog training/behavior and as a veterinary assistant will allow her to expertly lead the agency into the future with all the opportunities we are considering.”
