Cherry Creek To Host Fall Festival Saturday

CHERRY CREEK – The Cherry Creek Community Association will host a Fall Festival on Saturday in the hamlet of Cherry Creek.

The event is set to replace the annual Cherry Creek Independence Day Celebration, which was canceled due to inclement weather. In case of rain, the festival will be held on Sunday.

The festival will begin at 11 a.m. with the parade lineup on Southside Avenue with the parade set to begin at noon. From 1 to 7:30 p.m. several activities will be held at the ball park in Cherry Creek, including craft and food vendors and midway amusements. There will also be a beer and wine tent, 50-50 giveaways, Walkers Creekside Alpacas, hayrides and other family activities,

From 1 to 4 p.m. there will be a cruise in with music by DJ Carmello. Registration fee for the cruise in is a $10 donation due upon entry. There will be goodie bags and dash plaques for the first 100 cars to enter. Awards will be given at 4 p.m. including awards for The People’s Choice, classic car, truck, My Sweet Ride, rat rod and motorcycle. A bake sale to benefit the Pine Valley Longhorns Cheerleaders will begin at 1 p.m.

The chicken barbecue with JJ’s barbecue, sponsored by the Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire District, will begin at 2 p.m. and continue till sold out.

The live auction will begin at 3 p.m., with donations still being accepted.

The Scarecrow Auction will begin at 4 p.m. along with music by Pedro and The Smooth Cats, which will continue until 7 p.m.

The Fireworks Display will begin at 10 p.m.

All events will be held in the ballpark on Main Street.

Businesses will be open normal hours during the festival. The Cherry Creek Museum will open at 10 a.m. The Assembly of God Church will be operating a popcorn bar while the Trillium Lodge will be hosting chili cook off with live music by Wasted Whisky from 8 to 11 p.m. followed by a bonfire.
