BEMUS POINT — Fall festivities will be seen this weekend throughout Bemus Point as the village prepares to hold its annual Fall Fest.

The Bemus Point Fall Fest will be from Friday to Sunday, with various places throughout the village hosting different events throughout the three days. The Street Market and Open House will stretch along Main Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days. The market will have 75 vendors, offering locally-crafted goods, food, and artwork.

Participating stores will be offering “Draw-A-Leaf” Discounts, which Kelley Marker with the Bemus Point Business Association said was how the festival began years ago.

“Store-goers can choose a leaf when they check out at local businesses, and each leaf has a discount on it ranging from five percent to 50 percent off,” Marker said.

Participating stores include Bemus Point Pottery, GI Threads, Lakeside Arts and Furniture, Petals and Twigs Gifts and Children’s Shoppe, Skillmans, The Ugly Peacock, and Treasures on Main.

Local restaurants such as the Bemus Point Inn, Lake Life Cafe, Guppy’s Tavern, Ellicottville Brewing On Chautauqua, Splash, The Fish, The Green Door Tavern, Coppola’s Pizzeria, 14 Main, Bemus Point Market and The Village Casino will be offering special fall themed food and drinks. The Classic Car and Motorcycle CruiseIn is set for Saturday at the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House. On Saturday, the Bemus Point Historical Society will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Bemus Point Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Also at the festival, on Saturday, at the Bemus Point Inn, the Chautauqua County Humane Society will hold a fundraiser. From 4:30 to 7 p.m., the CCHS will have adoptable animals available. Also, for a $20 donation, a photographer will be available to photograph you and your dog or just your dog. Service and K-9 dogs are free. All proceeds will benefit CCHS.

New this year is the Fall Fest Beer Tent, hosted by Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House.

“People can come and hang out, try seasonal brews and partake in the festival at the new Beer Tent,” Marker said.

Also new this year, the Bemus Point Business Association is launching the “Bemus Gives Back” initiative in partnership with United Way. The campaign will encourage the local community to make a meaningful impact, and begins on Sept. 17, but Marker said advertising and more information on it will be able to be found around the festival.

“There will be a booth that people can come visit and learn more,” Marker said. “There will also be QR codes on signs and tent cards and participating restaurants will have them on coasters that people can scan to learn more.”

Other activities to be found at the fest include a petting zoo, face painting and other family-type activities for all ages.

Parking will be along Sunnyside Avenue by the school, and Marker said that Miss Joni’s Shuttle will be going around on a golf cart to provide rides up to one mile in the village to wherever people want to go on all three days. Miss Joni can be contacted for rides at (716) 338-5095 and she can pick people up right where they park.

Fall Fest sponsors include Shults Auto Group, UBS Auer and Associates, Dave Warren Golf Carts and the Bemus Point Business Association.

Marker encouraged everyone to come out to the festival.

“It grows every year and we have 75 vendors this year,” Marker said. “There is something for everyone from face painting to the petting zoo. It is for all ages and helps to highlight the beauty of Bemus Point.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
