A popular funeral home in the northern end of the county has been sold.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from July 11-20.

During that time period, Patricia Timko sold 20 Central Ave., Fredonia to LT&D LLC of Fredonia for $450,000. This is the location of Larson-Timko Funeral Home.

In August, the OBSERVER reported that after 43 years of owning and operating the Larson-Timko funeral home, the sale was finalized for the building between Trish Timko, and David and Alison Dengler.

“David and Alison also like Fredonia as much as Carl and I do. They will carry on Bill and Carl’s legacy,” Patricia Timko said to the OBSERVER. “They will now be taking care of all the needs for the wonderful village of Fredonia. Thank you for your love. This is bittersweet, however, I feel the business is in good hands with David and Alison Dengler.”

There were other business sales as well.

AMA of Fingerlakes, LLC of Fairport, NY sold 4795 West Main Road, Pomfret to Northeastern Property Group, LLC of Fredonia for $230,000. This is a six-unit apartment complex.

Windsong Enterprises, LLC of Jamestown sold 2494 Falconer Frewsburg Road, towns of Ellicott and Poland to Frost Transportation, LLC of Dunkirk for $205,000. Frost Transportation said they’re not yet ready to make an announcement on their plans for the property, but hope to do so sometime early next spring.

EBZ, Inc. of Dunkirk sold 16 Water St., Fredonia to Aloe Vera Eats, LLC of Fredonia for $85,000. A message sent to Aloe Vera Eats was not returned. In the windows are signs for Aloe Vera’s Eatery, but the building remains closed. This is the former location of Jim’s Cleaners. Aloe Vera Eatery used to be located at 33 Church St., Fredonia but closed that location in October, 2020. According to the company’s Facebook page, the business came back as Aloe Vera Eats in October of 2022 as a private members-only club, which provides a personal experience, helping with all things food.

Chautauqua Inns LTD of Mayville sold 4718 Cramer Road, Busti to Basket Company Inc., of Jamestown for $82,000. A message to Basket Company Inc. was not returned. This is the location of the former Carving Masters, Inc.

The largest sale during this time period was a personal residence. 125 East Terrace Ave., Lakewood sold for $1,265,000. Realtor.com describes the property as a 3,160 square foot, four-bedroom home on a 1.04 acre lot.

Including the sales previously mentioned, from July 11-20 there were 12 transactions that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:
