Firefighters Respond To Stowe Street Blaze

Jamestown firefighters were called to the city’s north side for a structure fire Friday morning. The fire broke out after 8 a.m. at a multi-family residence in the 100 block of Stowe Street, between Falconer Street and Newton Avenue. City officials advised motorists to avoid the area due to fire equipment at the scene. Smoke could be seen coming from the rear of the property as well as the attic. Officers with the Jamestown Police Department also were at the scene. Crews with the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities and the city Department of Development responded as well.
