The city of Jamestown’s purchase of the former Hartley car dealership property became official in early February.

The Post-Journal/OBSERVER has been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the sales from Feb. 1-14.

During that time period, Tim Shults sold 1425 Washington St., Jamestown to the city of Jamestown for $400,000. The sale included five parcels. The city council authorized the sale in June, 2021. The plan was for the property to be turned into the city’s central garage. In June, Jeff Lehman, project manager and former city public works director, said the new fleet maintenance building was about 90% complete.

From Feb. 1-14, there were six sales that were $250,000 or higher.

The remaining five sales were as follows:

¯ 3405 Route 430, Ellery, sold for $845,000.

¯ 3684 and 3686 Crestview Drive, Ellery sold for $355,000.

¯ Unit No. 8253, Canterbury Woods I Condominium, French Creek, sold for $310,000.

¯ 7769 Titus Road, Sherman, sold for $310,000.

¯ 6595 Quilliam Road, Chautauqua town sold for $300,000.
