Items fond in the vehicle of Alvarez-Luna on Tuesday morning.

A traffic stop early Tuesday led to drug and weapon charges against a Jamestown resident.

City officers report that around 1:13 a.m., they stopped a vehicle in area of West Fourth and Lark streets. The operator, identified as Anthony Alvarez-Luna of 633 E. Second St., Jamestown, was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded Taurus 9 mm handgun along with a quantity of cocaine, various pills and $1,500 in U.S. currency. A check showed Alvarez-Luna did not possess a pistol permit that would allow him to legally be in possession of the handgun.
