The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Franklin, a blue-eyed husky who arrived as a local stray. He is guessed to be about 2 years old. Typical husky, he was a roamer, so a fenced yard would be best for this guy. Franklin does not seem to have many good dog skills yet; he will need work on house training, leash walking and basic commands. Right now he is a very bouncy jumpy guy, but he is settling down more with all the walks he is receiving. He is very friendly and would probably get along well with other dogs his size, but likely not cats or other small animals. Huskies are very high energy; so he’d be best suited for a high-energy person. The shelter is closed to visitors except by pre-approved appointment.
