Travel Channel’s ‘The Dead Files’ Comes To Falconer

FALCONER – Paranormal activity can strike anywhere – even in the quiet village of Falconer.

On Saturday, May 2, at 10 p.m. The Travel Channel show, “The Dead Files,” will be airing “Deranged,” the second episode of the seventh season which takes place in Falconer. The investigators look into the reports of violent paranormal activity at a frightened family’s home where several previous residents have died. A former resident struggled with insanity and the home has remained plagued by decades of heartbreak and death.

“The Dead Files” features former New York State Police Department homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi and medium Amy Allan. The duo works to uncover paranormal histories and mysteries within locations across the United States. DiSchiavi and Allan investigate each case independently of one another to preserve the integrity of their individual findings. As a physical medium, Allan sees and communicates with the dead, uncovering layers of paranormal activity beyond anyone’s imagination. DiSchiavi researches the facts – interrogating witnesses, experts and perusing records to understand each location’s history, however dark or buried it may be. They avoid all contact with each other until the very end, when they reveal their discoveries to the homeowner in each episode’s conclusion.

“The way things have been going the last three or four seasons, we seem to be getting a lot more submissions where people have actually been physically touched. A lot of times children are being affected,” said DiSchiavi, who noted that children being touched by paranormal entities is the reason they visited the Falconer location. “Kids can’t protect themselves, and parents are having a tough time trying to figure things out. … Our job is to help people who are going through a tough time.”

The Travel Channel didn’t reveal where in Falconer the home was located, nor do they reveal where in the municipality the homes are located in the show. The Falconer Village Hall also didn’t know where in the village the show was filmed, although Anna Fales, village clerk, knew “The Dead Files” had a film crew at the Italian Fisherman in Bemus Point. However, she speculated it was for nothing more than a backdrop due to Chautauqua Lake being beautiful in the summer, at which time the episode was filmed.
