Five Face Drug Charges After Ninth Street Raid

Five area residents face charges while two more were arrested for outstanding court warrants after a drug raid on Ninth Street on Monday.

According to a police report, members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 26 W. Ninth St., upper apartment, around 2:40 p.m. Monday with with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team after an investigation into complaints of narcotics sales.

Upon making entry into the apartment, the SWAT Team located 14 people inside: Luis Torres Cortes, Jimmy Alvarez Ocasio, Eric Carter, Jesus Lao Santana, Donald Swanson, Hector DeJesus, Shawn Beardsley, Terrence McRae, Jacob Trippy, Shane Davis, Heather Dean, Tammy Bair-Holman, Kaleb Dean, and Mackenzie Kelley. Beardsley, McRae, Davis, Dean, Bair-Holman, Dean, and Kelley were released from the scene. Due to the conditions of the apartment, the Department of Development responded and condemned the apartment.

As detectives were entering the apartment they allegedly saw items being thrown out of a window. A search of the apartment reportedly resulted in the seizure of 4.1 grams of cocaine, 2.3 grams of crack cocaine, 28.8 grams of fentanyl, $195, digital scales, packaging materials and a handgun.

Luis M. Torres Cortes was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of first-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Jimmy Alvarez Ocasio is charged with criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia. Eric Carter is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Jesus Lao Santana is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia. Donald Swanson is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia. Hector DeJesus was wanted by the Jamestown Police Department for petit larceny and allegedly further found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl. He is additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Jacob Trippy was wanted by the Ellicott Police Department and turned over to them at the scene.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Ellicott Police Department, Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Emergency Services Tactical Medics, Jamestown Fire Department, and Department of Development.
