Farm animals die in Ripley fire
RIPLEY – Some farm animals and a pet died in a fire early Tuesday morning.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, at around 2:15 a.m. the Ripley Fire Department along with mutual aid departments responded to 9499 Route 20 in the Town of Ripley for a garage fire.
Later, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire was accidental in nature caused by an issue with the underground electrical service where it entered the garage. No reported injuries, however, a quantity of chickens, ducks, turkeys, and a dog perished in the fire.
Responding fire departments include Ripley Hose #1, South Ripley Hose #2, Westfield Fire Department and Fuller House from North East, Pa.
