CHAUTAUQUA — Several calves were injured in a Saturday morning blaze at a farm.

At around 5:31 a.m., the Sherman Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to the Sherman Livestock Barn at 4151 Route 430 for a reported structure fire. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation.

An investigation found that the fire was caused by a heat lamp coming into contact with combustibles.
