Animals perish in barn fire
STOCKTON – Some farm animals were killed Sunday night in a barn fire.
At around 11 p.m, the Stockton Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to a report of a barn fire at 6258 S. Stockton Cassadaga Road.
After the fire was extinguished, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigation found that the cause of the fire was a heat lamp which came in contact with combustible materials.
A horse and several rabbits perished as a result of the fire.
The fire has been ruled as accidental in nature.
