Jamestown Man Going To Prison For Role In Drug Conspiracy
U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross has announced that Timothy Snyder, 44, of Jamestown, who was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 100 grams or more of heroin, was sentenced to serve 12 years and 10 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, who is handling the case, stated that Snyder was a drug trafficking associate of Rocco Beardsley. As a part of Beardsley’s drug trafficking organization, Snyder, a manager and supervisor, sold, stored, and packaged drugs; kept drug ledgers; collected money; and coordinated with co-conspirators to sell methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl.
In May 2019, Snyder and his wife were stopped by the Jamestown Police Department and their vehicle was searched. Law enforcement recovered $8,400 in cash, which was drug proceeds to be turned over to Rocco Beardsley.
Rocco Beardsley was previously convicted and is awaiting sentencing.
This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach. The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department, under the direction of Chief Timothy Jackson, the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarantino III, New York Field Division, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff James Quattrone.
