A Tim Hortons will be constructed in 2024 at 7 West Chautauqua St., Mayville, where the former Mayville Diner was located. Developers hope to start construction in the spring.

MAYVILLE — A popular coffee chain restaurant is coming to the village.

During the Mayville Village Board meeting, officials passed a resolution to sell 7 West Chautauqua St. to Mayville Property Management, LLC for $45,000 to construct a Tim Hortons restaurant and drive through on the property.

That is the location of the former Mayville Diner, which was destroyed in an arson fire in December, 2019.

The developer of the Tim Hortons restaurant is David and Gina Kron, who own and operate four Tim Hortons in Northern Chautauqua County – two in Dunkirk, one in Fredonia and one in Cassadaga. They are also in the process of building a Tim Hortons in Westfield, where the former Vine City Restaurant was located.

After the resolution passed, Mayor Rick Syper introduced the Krons who were in the back of the room. The audience burst out in applause.

“We’re really excited to be coming to the village of Mayville and hope that this project works out wonderfully,” said Gina Kron.

She said they hope to start construction in the spring and be open sometime in the fall of 2024.
