Sinclairville Elementary School Marks Read Across America Week

Sinclairville Elementary School in the Cassadaga Valley Central School district recently celebrated reading with a contest during Read Across America week. Students were challenged to see which class could read the most books at home in one week. The top class got the prize of sliming their principal, Kelly Sedlak. Mrs Ramirez’s first grade class won with more than 100 books read. The top reader for the school was first grader, Emley Smith, daughter of Samantha and Josh Smith. She is seen in the picture dumping a bucket of slime after she and her classmates each got a turn to slime the principal. “My priority is making reading important and fun for our students. They were very excited about the chance to slime me,” Sedlak said afterward.
