Reg Lenna Center To Screen Two Films Nominated For Best Picture

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will screen the films A Complete Unknown and Nickel Boys, both of which have been nominated for Best Picture.

Timothee Chalamet stars and sings as Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown (today at 7 p.m.) the true story behind the rise of one of the most iconic singer-songwriters in history. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives with his guitar destined to change the course of American music. A Complete Unknown is rated R and is 140 minutes long. The film is nominated for 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor – Chalamet, Best Supporting Actor – Edward Norton, Best Actress – Monica Barbaro and Best Director – Mangold.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Colson Whitehead, Nickel Boys (Wednesday at 7 p.m.) chronicles the friendship between two young Black teenagers navigating the harrowing trials of reform school together in Florida. Nickel Boys is rated PG-13 and is 140 minutes long. The film is nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay in this year’s Academy Awards.

Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Oscar-nominee for Best Actress Cynthia Erivo and Best Supporting Actress nominee Ariana Grande in the Best Picture nominee – the movie musical Wicked (Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.) and two showings of Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King (Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. and Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.)

Tickets for most Movies at The Reg are $8 in-person at the box office and $10 online (reglenna.com) and by calling 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 in-person at the box office and $9 online and by phone. Special engagements are priced differently. The theater and box office at The Reg are located at 116 E. Third St., Jamestown. The box office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before movies and events.
