Locally Owned Sailboat Wins Awards At Antique And Classic Boat Show
The Lil’ Kanowa won two awards at the 45th annual Antique and Classic Boat Show held on the Niagara River at the Buffalo Launch Club.
The event was hosted by the Niagara Frontier Antique and Classic chapter of the International Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc.
The awards were for a 1953 Chris Craft 8 foot Pram Kit Boat with a rare Sailboat conversion accessory with the original sail, owned by William R. Reynolds III of Jamestown.
The 71-year-old boat, named Lil’ Kanowa (A small but nice thing), scored a 94 out of 100 points for the “Best of Show – Preserved” award and “Most Original Trophy.”.
Dan Lausterer helped as crew with transportation and set-up at the Buffalo show, which is considered to be one of the oldest and top 10 largest in the country.
