High School Bowl Matches To Begin In March

High School Bowl returns to Jamestown Community College for a 63rd season this winter with teams from 17 area high schools competing in a bracket-style quiz tournament that airs on local radio.

Started in 1960, High School Bowl is the longest running competition of its kind in the United States, offering students the opportunity to show what they know in a variety of school subject areas.

Starting on March 2, competitions are scheduled to air weekly at 9 a.m. Sundays on WJTN (1240 AM and 101.3 FM) through the championship match on May 4. High School Bowl can also be heard via live streaming audio on Alexa and on the Media One Radio Group app, as well as in podcast form on WJTN.com.

Tournament matches are recorded at the Katharine Jackson Carnahan Center on JCC’s Jamestown Campus. It is produced by Media One Group; hosted by Jade Barber, JCC’s High School Partnerships director; moderated by retired teacher Wendy Dyment of Westfield; engineered by Brian Papalia; and made possible by businesses and institutions committed to the young people of Southwestern New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania.
