Audubon To Host Little Explorers Feb. 8
The Audubon Community Nature Center will host its Little Explorers program Saturday, Feb. 8, with those attending learning about vertebrates.
A vertebrate is an animal with a backbone. There are vertebrates of all shapes and sizes found in Western New York, including foxes, frogs, and robins. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 and an adult can explore real bones to discover how the skulls, teeth, and other bones can help people learn more about an animal’s lifestyle and diet. They can tell a lot about its size, what it eats, and even how good some of its senses are.
After an indoor lesson, the group will go outside to see what else can be found about the vertebrates that live at Audubon.
A snack is provided after the hike and a craft is offered if there is time. Little Explorers happens regardless of the weather, so dress accordingly. The fee is $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3 to 8 and Nature Center members.
Enrollment is limited to 15 children, 30 participants total.
To make paid reservations by Thursday, Feb. 6, call 716-569-2345 during business hours or go online to AudubonCNC.org/events.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren, Pa.
