Nilla Ecklof

Nilla Ecklof has been selected as Jamestown’s 2024 Lucia, representing the American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation, Thule Lodge 127, and the Scandinavian Studies Program.

Lucia is a Swedish tradition, but has Italian roots. The candles and warmth of the pageant brings light to the long, dark winter days in Sweden.

Nilla is the daughter of Devin and Susanna Ecklof of Jamestown. She has participated in the Lucia program most of her life. Nilla is a senior at Jamestown High School where she is the Student Council co-president of her class. She also participates in many programs and clubs including Mock Trial, National Honor Society, Key Club, varsity golf, indoor track, A Cappella Chorus, Madrigals, and Chamber Orchestra.

The Lucia celebration will be held at the Tree of Life Church, 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the church hall with coffee and traditional Swedish cookies and sweet rolls.
