City Woman Accused Of Attempting To Assault Officer

A Jamestown woman has been arrested after allegedly attempting to assault a police officer.

According to Jamestown Police, On Friday around 2 a.m. officers with 3rd platoon responded to a north side address for reported unwanted subjects at the residence, stemming from an incident at the Wine Cellar.

Officers arrived on scene, and spoke with the parties involved. During the course of the investigation, officers were speaking with two individuals involved, when 43-year-old Mary A. Mowell allegedly picked up a dumbbell and charged at an officer and the two individuals. Mowell was quickly subdued by officers and taken into custody without further incident.

She was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with obstructing government administration, resisting arrest, and unnecessary noise.

Due to state bail reform, Mowell was served an appearance ticket to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
