Beauty Is NCCR Dog Of Week
The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Beauty, a 4-year-old female Norwegian Elkhound, rescued from a life of churning out puppies for profit. She arrived at the shelter in rough shape, having been drained of all resources from constant pregnancy and nursing litter after litter. With a visit to the vet and a nutritious diet, Beauty is now on the road to full recovery. She is a little timid with people at first, but warms up fine with some sweet talk and has been making great progress in becoming more socialized to people. She enjoys being petted and scratched, is very accepting of handling, and seems to be a very intelligent and alert dog who learns quickly. Beauty is still adjusting to life outside of a cage in a breeding facility, but she is building more confidence every day and is ready to see all the good things life has to offer. Read more about Beauty and apply to adopt online at www.caninerescue.org, or visit her and her adoptable friends in person at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, Monday through Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. No appointment is required.
