Kennedy Free Library Celebrates 70 Years
KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library hosted a special celebration September 28 from 1-3pm to honor the 70th anniversary of the library. An open house was conducted with a short program at 1:30pm. Dawn Swanson, director welcomed the many guests to the special event and introduced the Kennedy Free Library board of trustees. Three of the board members spoke of the history of the library from 1954 to current day. Swanson spoke of the recently passed proposition of the library and their future goals. Senator Borello offered an official proclomation for the outstanding dedication of the library. Andrew Goodell was unable to attend but sent an official citation for the library celebration. There were representatives from Congressman Langworthy’s office and the County Executives office, in attendance and made special mention of the important work of libraries in our communities. 3C’s catered the special event and Ralph “Razz” Rassmussen and company provided the musical entertainment.
