Audubon To Host Animal Tracks Session Oct. 26
Animals leave an abundance of signs that they are around – some are obvious, others can be hidden or overlooked.
Take to the trails to look for “Animal Tracks and Signs” at the Audubon Community Nature Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
Measuring footprints, examining abandoned nests, and poking through scat are all ways to identify the animals that live at Audubon. While the animals themselves can be hard to find, the signs of their presence are everywhere. In addition to these signs helping those attending discover the animals that live there, the group will also gain insight into how they live.
The program takes place outdoors, so be sure to dress for the weather. The cost is $8 or $6 for Nature Center members and children ages 9 to 15. Reservations are appreciated by calling 716-569-2345 or online through Programs and Events at AudubonCNC.org. Walk-ins are welcome.
The Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.
