Sherman Native Promoted To Colonel In U.S. Army
Jeffrey D. Hay was promoted to the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army during a ceremony at the Missile and Space Intelligence Center on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. on May 26.
Hay graduated from the United State Military Academy at West Point in 2001 with a BS in systems engineering, was a Chinook helicopter mission and maintenance test pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan before becoming an operations research/systems analyst.
He holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Michigan.
Hay has served in various positions related to weapons and combat formation analysis, joint operations and threat weapon systems scrutiny. He blends military experience with advanced knowledge of statistics and analytic techniques to plan, conduct, synthesize and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative analysis. His next assignment will be at the Special Operations Command Headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., as the Chief of the Strategic Planning Division.
Hay graduated from Sherman Central School and is the son of Carol Hay and the late J. Douglas Hay. He is married to Jody, a Sherman native, and together they have two adult children, Shelby and Adyn.
