Kathy Burch Named Rotarian Of The Year
John Healy, outgoing president of the Rotary Club of Jamestown, recently presented Kathy Burch with the honor of Rotarian of the Year for 2022-2023.
Burch has been a member of the Jamestown Club for five years and before that she was a member of the Rotary Club of Olean for many years. She is a past-president of the Olean Club as well as serving on the golf, environmental, fundraising, Vision, Social, and Vocational committees of the clubs, in addition to serving as treasurer of the Rotary Club of Jamestown’s Community Service Fund and just completing a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Jamestown club.
The majority of Rotary clubs do not have a 501C3 as part of their organization because of the work required to maintain it. Burch has spent many hours keeping this arm of the Rotary Club of Jamestown organized and compliant. The Jamestown Club’s fundraisers such as the golf tournament, pass through Community Service Fund, which Burch has had to track and maintain. She has also had the task of converting all former RCJCSF financial records to QuickBooks, which is another time-consuming job.
Kathy is presently employed as the financial director of the Gebbie Foundation and she and her husband Mark are the parents of grown sons. Many community members will remember Kathy for the many years she worked as financial officer of the Chautauqua County Red Cross.
