RANDOLPH — The 18th annual Stahley family reunion was held recently with 31 people in attendance.

Hosts for this year’s event were Jeff and Karen (Stahley) Cloutier of Randolph.

A meal of beef on weck and hot dogs was served with everyone bringing their favorite dish to pass. There was one mishap, a certain male (Keith Smallback) didn’t know how to run the stove and never turned it on for Nikki’s famous cheesy potatoes. The potatoes and deviled eggs made a late appearance.

The meeting was opened by Janet Huntington of Randolph. She read 2021’s minutes and gave a brief financial report. The oldest family member attending was Jeffrey Cloutier of Napoli at 79. The youngest member in attendance was Remington Smith at 9. He is the son of Raleigh and Tara (Huntington) Smith of Little Valley.

Milestones announced were Jayden Vine was born on 1-9-22 to Rachelle Hayes of Florida, Scott Stahley and Amy Gibson were married in Kentucky on Oct. 1, 2021, and Scott Stahley also retired from the Army after 20 years of service. David Stahley turned 70 on July 7, 2022. Chase Smallback graduated from Syracuse University and has accepted a job with Fog & Apple Marketing of Manhattan, N.Y. He has relocated to Cranberry, N.J. Brooklyn Hill graduated from the State University at Brockport and has accepted a teaching position at Brockport Central High School this fall.

A moment of silence was held for deceased family members.

The family member traveling the farthest was Aaron Stahley of Rochester, N.Y.

Family items were on display with the partial history of the Stahley name.

A Chinese auction was held as well as some of the family’s favorite desserts.

There were added attractions this year, the Huntington’s brought their Cross net game while other family members kayaked. There was also a family cornhole tournament.

Nikki and Keith Smallback will host the 2023 reunion.
