Chautauqua Striders’ first golf scramble since 2019 drew crowds of golfers to support Striders’ programming.

The organization’s largest fundraiser of the year raised more than $15,000.

This year’s scramble included challenges on the course, competitions for cash prizes, plus 50/50 and basket raffles. Golfers enjoyed taking part in four separate hole-in-one challenges, sponsored by Shults Auto Group, including one with a top prize of $10,000. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were included in the day’s activities, including a chicken barbecue dinner by Basil and Bones. Participants played 18 holes of golf at South Hills Country Club in Jamestown.

“We appreciated the showing of support the community gave us during Friday’s event,” said Jen Swan-Leuze, Chautauqua Striders executive director. “With more than 90 players registered, it was wonderful to see the spacious greens of South Hills filled with golfers enjoying the day while supporting our programs.”

Sponsors included Shults Auto Group, Hope’s Windows, Manheim Pittsburgh, Carfax, The Post-Journal, Superior Lubricants, Northwest, Cox Automotive and Premier Media.

We are thrilled that we were able to return to holding this annual event and hope that all who participated enjoyed themselves and will join us again next year!”
