Randolph Class Participates In Pennies For Paws Campaign
RANDOLPH — Mrs. Beaver’s sixth grade class recently held the annual Pennies for Paws campaign to help the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
The students wrote and made announcements, made posters, and made and delivered jars to all of the classrooms at the elementary school. The penny drive lasted for two weeks in March. At the end of the two weeks, the students collected all of the jars of donations, and then had to count all of the pennies.
The winning classrooms this year were:
¯ fifth place, with $30.43, Mrs. Calimeri’s third grade class;
¯ fourth place, with $35.20, was Ms. Bohall’s third grade class;
¯ third place, with $40.72, was Mrs. Young’s sixth grade class;
¯ second place, with $44.93, was Mrs. Johnson’s pre-kindergarten class; and
¯ first place, with $55.45, was Miss Erskine’s first grade classroom.
Overall, the school raised $633.83 for the Humane Society.
