Zontian Of The Year Named

The Zontian of the Year for 2019, Karen Dolce, was named and honored at a dinner meeting at the Marvin House in Jamestown on Oct. 16.

Dolce was born in Jamestown, attended parochial elementary school and graduated from Jamestown High School. She is proud of her heritage, very pro-Jamestown and actively supportive of the National Comedy Center.

She upholds and practices the motto of Zonta, to advocate for and empower women. Dolce has been on the Zonta Club of Jamestown Board, held local office and has participated in local, district and Zonta International conferences. She is well-known for volunteering to help with anything Zonta-related such as “Zonta Says No to Violence,” Luna Fest, the Yellow Rose project, Zonta Day at Chautauqua, the Princess Club and many others.

She has served on the Child Advocacy Program Board and now is one of their volunteers. She has also been very supportive of the Marvin House and its activities. Dolce enjoys traveling, painting crafts, and shopping. She has been married to Randy Thompson for nine years.
