GA Program Tours SKF Aeroengine Facility

FALCONER — SKF Aeroengine in Falconer is becoming quite the showcase for the G.A. Family Services Accountability and Responsibility Program which implements Career opportunities for local youth along with other key program activities during an eight-week session.
This marks the third tour hosted by SKF Aeroengine and the outcome was very productive with good conversation along with questions from the excited group of participants. The visitors received a guided tour of the facility by Larry Tyers and Colleen Carlson. The local Career Opportunities tour was focused on education, good work ethic, importance of on the job safety and career opportunities.
The participants were also required to wear an ID badge, safety goggles, ear Plugs and steel toe slip on foot protection during the tour. The A&R Program encourages local companies to open their doors to the next generation of potential employees who may not have knowledge of different career wages and the impact that a good education may have when exploring the job field. Recently, SKF Aeroengine in Falconer hosted the after-school Leadership Program offered through Lutheran/GA Family Services. SKF is one of the premiere employers in the Jamestown/Falconer area and primarily manufactures aero engine and gearbox bearings with 487 employees in a very clean working atmosphere.
